Have Your Say
Council is currently seeking feedback on potential changes to a number of key sections in the District Plan. Feedback is being sought until 15 June 2010.
The potential changes include:
- Giving more direction on where new development and subdivision occurs
- Changing section sizes in rural and urban areas - increasing some and decreasing others
- Changing housing and building standards such as how far back from a road, or from a neighbors property a building can be
- Redefining the Cambridge Character area
- Reconsidering whether a buffer area is required for mineral extraction activities
There will be a further opportunity to provide feedback on other sections of the District Plan in June and July. These will include provisions relating to protection of heritage buildings, natural features, natural hazards, and significant natural areas.
The forms below highlight key changes that are being considered now. Council is keen to hear your views – are these ideas that you support? Do have you other suggestions? If there are additional matters that you think need addressing then we are keen to hear your views.
If you would prefer a hard copy of the form then they are available at Council offices and libraries. Have your say!
